I understand the topic, but I need more power to handle everything like a school project and gaming. Linux seems to be a great choice for both productivity and gaming. At least I should get Minecraft, OptiFine, and Shadertoy for shaders.

If you're using Linux for personal reasons, that's okay. Just remember that certain games might not function properly, particularly those with anti-cheat systems. This statement comes from someone who uses Linux.

Hello new member, I've been familiar with this forum for some time now. Just a short while ago I started using it, and I'm thinking about switching to Linux. Being a long-time Windows user (Vista/Windows 10), I'm not very experienced outside of Windows yet. One reason I want to move away is the outdated theme, and I've also heard performance might be better on Linux compared to Windows.

Linux runs quicker and has fewer issues compared to Windows. If you're unfamiliar with Linux, the forum and community are there to assist you. Additionally, Linux can be tailored to suit your needs.

For SSD durability, choose the smallest swap partition during installation—such as 1 or 2 GB—and set swappiness to zero. This keeps the swap space unused until RAM is nearly exhausted. Windows may not damage SSDs directly, but excessive swap usage can shorten their lifespan. Regarding gaming, most titles require anti-cheat systems that aren’t compatible with Linux, and using them would expose you to significant privacy and security risks.
