You're aiming for a high-performance PC and want to know if you can run RTX 3070 games on Linux. There are drivers available for the RTX 3070 on Linux, though they might require some setup. As for gaming, it's possible but can be challenging due to performance limitations compared to Windows. Consider your priorities and be prepared for a different experience.

Ensure a Linux driver is available at startup. Installation may require manual setup if it's missing from the repositories.

They’re unlikely to perform well right now, so I’d highly suggest going with an AMD card—even if it means waiting a bit longer.

Check the instructions for your device. If it's Linux-based, ensure your SSD is compatible and follow safe usage guidelines to avoid damage.

You seem confused about why you wouldn't damage your SSD. You're asking about game sources and compatibility with Linux, especially if using Steam.

Nvidia typically provides day one support for Linux. For gaming, simply install Steam.

Windows 10 has an issue that can damage your drives, which is why I wondered if Ubuntu or other options were better choices.

It doesn’t damage your drives significantly; it only adds a small amount of extra writes. Writes shouldn’t be a concern for most consumer gadgets—just relax. Linux handles trimming well, which helps the SSD operate efficiently across its entire capacity.

It merely adds more information to the storage without affecting typical problems. Switching to Linux may limit support for certain game releases. Even with Proton, some titles remain incompatible. Modern Warfare is an example of this issue.

Writing repeatedly damages SSDs. For hard drives, it doesn't matter.
