Final update – after reinstalling Debian and reaching out via IRC for assistance from #debian and #networking, it turns out my ISP uses a double NAT setup. There seems to be no realistic way to connect externally to my home server unless the ISP provides an IP outside of a double NAT environment (which they won’t). Alternatively, obtaining a VPS might be necessary.
