Just acquired Witcher 2 for Linux via GOG. Set it up on Arch using Lutris with the pre-made link for the native version: https://lutris.net/games/the-witcher-2-a...d-edition/. According to the site, the install went smoothly without issues. Initially, I faced a pop-up error due to missing dependencies. After installing Steam Native Runtime, the game launched properly and displayed the launcher. Now, when I try to start it, I see strange system info showing a Linux distro and kernel version. The game box appears, but clicking "Launch game" triggers a strange error: OS version and kernel details are listed. Application logs reveal system limits and OpenGL versions, indicating the game is using AMD VRE with specific drivers. Crash dumps and logs suggest OpenGL contexts are being handled, but there are still issues with file limits and driver compatibility. It seems the setup worked initially but encountered runtime constraints. Consider checking your hardware specs and ensuring all drivers are up to date.

Avoid using Lutris, their scripts frequently fail. Manually download from GoG or try Steam for full software installation. Your older CPU will limit performance on Witcher 2.

Witcher 2 is quite outdated, especially if your system lacks enough hardware. It's fine if it doesn't work perfectly due to limited resources. I plan to attempt running it without Lutris. Since you brought it up, I'll check and see how it goes.

My Steam library contains Witcher 2. I only play it occasionally because I get bored quickly. It runs smoothly once you install Steam—it handles everything for you. Try registering your copy on your Steam client.
