Previously, I achieved around 700 to 800 fps on Pop OS while playing Minecraft Java Edition, but after switching to Windows for work, the frame rate dropped to 100 to 150 with OptiFine. I’m unsure why Windows isn’t optimized well enough and should be fixed. My PC specs are: CPU Ryzen 5 3550H, GPU Vega 8, GPU GTX1650, 12GB RAM.

The question highlights a common concern about performance. Many players wonder if higher frame rates truly matter in Minecraft.

Observe during PvP the higher FPS is preferable. And who doesn't enjoy increased FPS?

Absolutely, I just want to highlight how Windows struggles with optimization. It would be better if Microsoft focused on improving the system instead of making poor user interface updates.

At 999fps with dynamic refresh on a 380hz display outperforms 150fps on the same setup. The differences are narrow, yet increased frames per second also lowers lag when using variable refresh rate or artificially capped FPS beyond v-sync.

Beyond about twice your screen’s refresh rate, those extra frames lose meaning. I limit my frame rate to 160 on a 77 Hz display (after OC, it might be higher, but the firmware resists). I think they should address more than just UI issues—like resolving the Settings vs. Control Panel conflict—but I guess that’s not the main point.

What specific issue needs addressing? A universal solution doesn't exist; each problem requires a tailored approach.

I also experience 40 frames per second in the warehouse at 720p using a powerful GTX 1650.

Absolutely, they need to fine-tune Windows for budget devices as well.
