What kind of games you enjoy? Your GPU is a few years old, it's mobile, and it has limited VRAM, which makes sense.

I installed Linux on the laptop to let your friend enjoy his D&D games. When the machine had Windows a few months back, it ran all the games smoothly. Now it seems like something is wrong.
