I plan to try Linux this weekend for a lighter, more customizable setup. I’m looking for something efficient without heavy overhead. WS is an option, but I prefer Arch because of its minimal footprint, though I’m open to Mint if it feels more approachable.

Avoid setting up a lot of time if you prefer, then skip Arch. Linux Mint is a solid choice—used it for a long time. I’ve switched to Fedora now.

I haven’t tried LMDE before; I used the standard Mint instead. It seems fine. The smaller user base is unclear, but if you prefer extra caution, stick with the regular version. If you’re curious, give it a try and let me know your thoughts.

Mint is a great choice if you prefer minimal setup. It’s straightforward because it’s based on Ubuntu, making it very user-friendly.

Consider Manjaro as a middle ground between Mint and Arch. It runs on Arch's foundation, yet simplifies installation. Packages are delayed two weeks for additional testing.
