Linux Mint issues kernel panics frequently.
I powered on my computer and experienced a kernel panic. Disconnecting all USB devices left only the monitor connected and reproduced the issue. I also attempted various kernels via the GRUB menu, but the problem persisted. After updating my system a few weeks prior, everything functioned correctly until today. I downloaded the latest Linux Mint ISO from their site and burned it to a USB drive. When I booted from the live USB, kernel panics reoccurred (both normal and compatibility modes worked). Running the included memory test software with MemTest86+ showed no errors. It seems a hardware problem might be responsible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
You resolved the issue by disconnecting the memory card, switching the port, replacing the SATA cable, and removing other SATA devices from your motherboard.
