Hello, I recently set up Linux Mint as a dual boot on my laptop, inspired by the Linux challenge content and videos from creators like Mental Outlaw. Unlike many, I prefer the centered start menu and icons seen in Windows 11. I’ve moved the Mint logo and grouped window list applets to the center, but I’m struggling to center the menu itself. Is this a straightforward adjustment in settings, or should I just adapt? Updated November 11, 2021 by xeoknight missing s

A minor suggestion, cinnamon doesn't add much for customization. If you're aiming for something that matches Win 11, probably check KDE Plasma instead. Centered bars are available in GNOME and COSMIC as well, so worth exploring.

It's not simple. The settings if they were available for the "menu" would be available through the applets configuration. You can get to the applets configuration by right clicking the bottom panel enabling "Panel Edit Mode". Right Clicking the applets you want to edit and selecting "Configure". After you're done disable "Panel Edit Mode'. I do not see a centering option on the "Menu" applet's configuration options. But that doesn't mean you have to cope with your desktop as it. You can try some other menu applets by right clicking the panel selecting "Applets..." going to the Download tab and typing menu. I downloaded cinnamenu as an example and added the applet to my panel in place of menu. the end result was. This one seems to be fairly configurable but again no center option available. I'm unaware if this would be a cinnamon applets core limitation(edit:it is) but I'd imagine you could look into the applets .js and .json and add the xwindow draw location but this would only be the case if your really really know what you're doing don't try to fumble through that as it will likely break all the panel applets .
