Are there any users using Plex on Linux Mint? I’m planning to set up a Plex server with my i7 6700 but noticed it’s missing from the official Plex site. Would installing Ubuntu from the Plex repository work, or should I switch to Ubuntu instead? Also, my Windows 10 SSD failed and I’m unsure about reinstalling it on a new motherboard and case.

Mint is essentially Ubuntu with a few applications already installed, so it should function perfectly.

Thanks a lot! I believe that’s possible. Do you know any motherboards that would work well with this configuration? I’m looking for something with more than six SATA ports since my wife and the kids enjoy saving and streaming content. I’m considering replacing my rented Comcast DVR with a home NAS, which could be useful if it works.

You're considering how to set up your storage before moving forward. It sounds like you're weighing separate drives versus JBOD, and you're thinking about adding more space later. An 8TB drive could definitely be a smart backup plan if you need extra redundancy.
