Hello, I see you're using Linux Mint 18.1 with Cinnamon. The issue appears to be related to the power cycle. It seems the system starts normally when unplugged but fails when plugged back in. Trying to restart by unplugging and replugging might resolve the problem. Let me know if that helps!

Hey @cisto1999, you're asking if it's better to shut down instead of hibernate. It's common for computers to resist waking up after hibernation. The fix usually involves cutting off all power to the system. Edit: grammar adjusted.

Yes, I want to shut it down. Hibernate is turned off. I also tried pressing another power button, but it didn’t work :-

I’m unable to assist further, but I no longer recommend Linux Mint to others. After fixing the installation with a straightforward sudo apt-get autoremove, I found myself stuck in a basic command prompt with just ten commands to operate.
