Linux must lead over Windows only when developers prioritize it first, while Windows follows. It requires full participation from hardware makers—Nvidia is lagging behind AMD in Linux driver support. Moreover, missing features are a problem; adding them would be beneficial. This situation creates a chicken-and-egg dilemma because progress won’t happen without a stronger Windows user base, which itself depends on robust software and hardware backing.

Linux is treated as a top priority for servers, with tools like Apache and Nginx performing poorly on Windows and missing features compared to the Linux version. Outside of servers, things are quite different—most systems are chaotic, causing crashes, slow speeds, and frequent bugs. Installing software is often a hassle for many users, and getting it to function properly can be extremely difficult. People should realize that users install operating systems to run software, not the reverse. This explains why Windows phones struggled on mobile, lacking the app ecosystem of Android and iOS. Ultimately, software defines user experiences; users focus more on practical issues like microphone problems, language support, or unexpected crashes than on technical details such as kernel quality or open-source philosophy.

It seems quite similar. Without strong foreign language assistance, it’s tough to navigate daily tasks in Japanese. Once Cosmic desktop is fully launched, things might improve significantly. Generally, most modern games support Proton and often perform better. Many older titles still cause problems, though I’ve usually managed to get them running on Windows. There’s no Microsoft Office Suite, but LibreOffice works well as a substitute. I haven’t used Microsoft Word much, so I prefer Google Docs instead. The Linux environment isn’t especially impressive for me—just a small quibble about window scaling. Cosmic could really address these issues.

I'm still struggling with poor software. Most of my apps are now web-based due to this issue.
