Linux has progressed significantly in gaming, and it seems likely to continue evolving. I expect it will become even more compact over time, particularly if Microsoft rolls out its browser-based streaming service across all browsers—not just Apple devices. This brings up another question: why should Linux games be limited to a GamePass browser version, while other titles can run smoothly without issues? With Microsoft expanding its game studio, we may witness a surge in exclusive titles built specifically for their graphics API. Hardcore players might find it difficult to justify spending money on individual games as the GamePass catalog expands. The console market is vast, and most PC games are designed for Windows platforms, leaving many PC titles without native support. Which will bring in more revenue—a Linux port or a new game? It’s a bit scattered, but if Microsoft adopts its current approach, it could capture a substantial share of the gaming industry, which would be beneficial for Linux gaming if they adopt similar strategies for Apple products.
