Hi everyone. I usually use Ableton on Windows and am searching for a similar tool on Linux for a seamless transfer. I’m looking for an open-source alternative to Bitwig that works well. I’ve tried a few but didn’t like it much. I’ve been researching for months. If anyone knows how to run Ableton via USB pass-through for MIDI on Linux, that would be perfect! Thanks in advance!

I've experimented with various platforms, starting with LMMS since it was the first I tried. It's quite simple and doesn't perform very well. I was aiming for something similar to Ableton, which is familiar from my college days.

I work with a program named Ardour, which offers two complimentary options—one is a ready-to-use demo, the other allows you to access the source code or purchase it at https://ardour.org/

Wondering about the aspects you didn't enjoy with Bitwig.

You didn't really enjoy it. It wasn't Ableton, was it? Haha!

I understand. After moving to Linux, I switched from FL Studio to LMMS, though it doesn’t perform very well. I’m considering dual booting and believe open-source tools like LMMS won’t be too impressive.
