He uses various programs to create music. You might want to switch to Linux for better performance, stability, or customization options.

He doesn’t rely on modern music software right now but is considering a desktop setup for creating music. Instead, he relies on a 15-year-old 8-track recorder.

Examine the software he prefers first; most are limited to Mac or Windows. There doesn’t seem to be a strong need to move to Linux here. Staying on Windows or Mac would avoid unnecessary complications.

It's recognized for gathering information; aside from that, it's a solid Chinese distribution based on Debian, I think. You might also check https://ubuntudde.com – it offers the same desktop environment but on Ubuntu.

Several Linux distros simplify audio creation, such as Fedora Jam Ubuntu Studio. Both are built by the same team, so you won’t face major issues. Fedora leads in newer tech and works well with commercial audio tools for Linux, thanks to its ties with Red Hat Enterprise Linux—commonly used in production studios. The experience will feel similar since the same developers contribute to both.
