I'm currently using Mint on my work laptop and am very satisfied with it. I've also tried Manjaro and found it enjoyable. I didn't have a strong impression of Ubuntu, Kubuntu, or any other distros.
You're just starting to explore Mint Cinnamon—it's been four months now, and it's already helping a lot. No need to switch things up yet!
I’m a Linux developer, so logically I should understand what’s happening and know how to handle things ^^. Yet I still favor the simplicity of Ubuntu, since if something works for Linux it’s likely to work for Ubuntu too. This isn’t true for most other distros. Debian would be acceptable, but Ubuntu offers more recent packages. I really appreciate Arch’s rolling release and customization options. Right now I’m using Ubuntu with Cinnamon as my desktop environment.
Pop!_OS is my preferred Linux distribution, similar to Ubuntu in that everything runs smoothly but often stays ahead in updates and supports newer hardware thanks to System76. Many dislike Gnome, though I’m not sure why—it’s really handy for navigation and can be upgraded easily. If users weren’t so accustomed to Windows, it might seem more natural than Mate or Cinnamon.
