Considering a move to Linux seems like a good idea—many say it runs faster and is more streamlined. Playing Roblox on Linux is possible, though availability may vary. For your setup, pick an OS like Ubuntu or Fedora; they’re popular and well-supported. Thanks!

It definitely feels quicker, and the layout seems more streamlined. I searched for "Roblox on Linux" and discovered this. I’m not sure how current that information is, but it mentions Linus created a helpful video about picking a distribution—Pop!_OS is recommended if you’re new to Linux.

Sure, that works. I'll check by asking others about compatibility.

Roblox isn't officially available for Linux. While some users have found ways to run it, the process is complicated and often causes issues. For the best experience, it's recommended to use Windows.

Linux is simply the core operating system. Its speed relies on the distribution you choose. Some distros are lighter and ideal for slow hardware such as IoT devices or older systems, while others can be quite heavy like Windows 10 or beyond. The more features you add—especially a polished desktop environment—the greater the demand on system resources. There’s no shortcut.

The differences in FPS between distros are likely minimal. Menu navigation could play a role, but the drivers should be consistent across versions, keeping hardware performance stable. "Faster" usually means perceived speed rather than actual power. You'd probably need to use more resources actively to feel the difference compared to Windows.

Hi @tomharris, @GoodBytes, and @XR6, I’m not sure I’ll make the switch because of compatibility issues with Roblox.

It seems you're facing an issue with updating your software. You mentioned needing the newest version of Microsoft Office, as there isn't a direct alternative with similar features. Using Linux can provide Office 2010, but it lacks many functionalities you require.

Yeah well if you use Lutris on Pop!_OS, they do have a Roblox installer that works 90% of the time.
