He mentioned being able to boot to the desktop in the upcoming update, something you could already do in 8.1 and he explained when it was released.

He prefers touchscreens but finds them less practical on large desktops. On my setup, the Metro UI feels awkward when viewed from far away, but it works well up close—especially when I can touch the screen.

I’m using Windows 8.1 and really like it. I don’t have many issues that would make me strongly dislike the OS or want to go back to Windows 7.

Linus appreciates a sleek modern interface on tablets and laptops, but dislikes it on desktops. He finds the desktop version unappealing and doesn’t see any value in it. On the other hand, he seems indifferent to the Start screen, showing no interest in exploring it further. This perspective is purely based on his personal experience and reactions. Not actual facts. He generally enjoys the Start screen on both devices, though he only uses a few Windows 8 apps like XBox Music, Weather, and News Bento. The rest he doesn’t find useful. He values the convenience of launching games directly, accessing frequently used programs with a single click, and navigating without needing precise mouse movements. On his Surface Pro 2, he’d prefer more applications that work well with a modern interface on tablets or similar devices.

Alright, I've understood the points you made. There are still a few things to sort out, but overall I've started to enjoy and appreciate the Modern UI. It's proven to be a very helpful and efficient method for locating and launching games from both Origin and Steam.

He believes the software doesn't fully work with Windows 8. He said he needs to wait for the charms hotcorner, but the right method is to hotcorner first, then shift your mouse to the desired charm. No waiting required.

Windows 8.1 offers many advantages compared to Windows 7. One of the biggest for me is quicker copying and pasting large files or documents, along with the ability to pause the process. The overall appearance is also improved. There’s no noticeable drawback. Those who aren’t using it or aren’t interested in mastering it face difficulties. Linus often encounters problems with it, which leads me to believe he mainly uses it on the older version.
