Avoid setting the gateway, there isn't one present. No need to interact with it. Proceed to the explorer, navigate to the network drive, and enter \\IPOFOTHERSYSTEM\sharename

Electronics Wizardy suggests using a network drive share. It's preferable to a homegroup for this purpose.

It indicated an issue this time, so I repeated the action since my login credentials failed. Changed file transfer passwords on the other machine (now EWaste) to allow access. Updated notes: IP exists but can’t locate the sharename. Edited June 25, 2018 by DrDerp
