I recently bought a Zephyrus GA503RW-LN031W and am attempting to connect it to my Acer Predator XB271HU using a USB-C to HDMI 2.1 cable. My goal is to avoid changing cables each time I switch between devices. Currently, when I use the USB-C to HDMI connection, I get a lower resolution of 800 x 600 at 60 Hz. Switching to HDMI to HDMI gives me 2560 x 1440 at 165 Hz, which works well with my 2070 Super. I’m unsure how this setup would work if I connected HDMI directly to HDMI, but I’m hoping it might be compatible. I’m considering upgrading to a dock or replacing the Predator soon, either with a G9 49" or two 4K displays, and need advice on the best temporary fix. This is just a short-term solution at the moment.

Maybe it’s simpler than switching to another standard.

It's true that an HDMI cable is significantly larger than a USB-C cable, but having a spare USB-C to HDMI cable makes it easier to switch between them.
