On Windows, after connecting your laptop to an external monitor with an HDMI cable, you press the Windows key plus P on the keyboard and select your desired display settings. You can choose to show a second screen and close the laptop lid. For MacBook Pro, the process differs—connecting via a USB-C cable and switching to clamshell mode allows closing the lid without turning the device off. There seems to be no direct method on MacBook Pro that matches this setup.

Check if the laptop is powered on and connected to an external keyboard and mouse. Ensure HDMI functionality is enabled with those devices.

I also use HDMI without issues. The challenge is seeing the screen when I close the laptop lid, but it powers off. On my Windows laptop, I connect the monitor to it via HDMI, close the lid, and still work fine.

On Windows laptops, you can select an option that says "do nothing after closing the lid." This feature isn't present on Macs.

Mac doesn't offer that feature. For me, it functions properly when I close it, though sometimes it does happen without my intention. The nearest alternative I discovered was:

Are you wondering if your laptop remains active after you shut it down?
