You're checking if linking your PC via Ethernet to the mesh router counts as a wired setup. It should function similarly in terms of speed and stability compared to connecting straight to your modem.

No, you still get some loss by the wireless transmission from the home module to the satellite. You just won't get any loss from the Wifi module in your PC is all. Depending on your wifi, this may not matter. My Xfinity has 1.3Gbps wifi and sub 10ms PING on wifi. In my o0ffice across the house I get this: Not sure how much better a mesh setup would improve latency.

It's not crucial whether you're using a wired or wireless connection, as wired connections tend to offer better stability, which is key for gaming performance.

I can track packet loss and jitter too, but I’m saying Wi-Fi can match Ethernet in quality. I don’t know your service provider or performance details, since you didn’t mention them. For your configuration, you’ll have a stronger wireless link from home to the satellite, followed by a stable connection from the satellite to your PC. At my place, Wi-Fi outperforms most Ethernet connections thanks to Comcast Xfinity upgrades.

I'll test the Ethernet cable to check for enhancements. Note that my Wi-Fi data indicates speeds range from 500Mbps to 1Gbps based on distance, connection mode, and hardware type. My typical Wi-Fi download rate is 12–15MB/s.

WiFi performance is quite poor here, even at 15Mbps which is well below 100Mbps. Try connecting via Ethernet to the satellite and compare the results.

Yes, linking directly to your mesh network using an Ethernet cable might boost performance. It could actually reduce speeds if your device has a strong Wi-Fi connection and joins the main mesh node. Perform three speed tests: one with Ethernet to a repeater, one via Wi-Fi, and another to the primary node. Compare the results.
