Link velocity of 100mbps
Link velocity of 100mbps
Hello, My friend and I recently set up some wired networking from the router to his bedroom. After spending several hours in the attic, we finished installing the insulation and cutting holes into the drywall, and everything is now functioning properly. The main problem is that the internal network speed auto-negotiated to 100mbps. I think this might be due to the Ethernet cable not being fully "punched down." We used Cat 5e RJ-45 jacks and a riser cable. Luckily, his ISP's maximum speed is also 100mbps, so it seems we should have figured out the issue without much effort. He doesn’t use any internal networking setup either. My reasoning is if he only pays for 100 Mbps and we confirmed that through Speedtest.net, then is there really something wrong? Thanks! Zack
We managed to set everything up perfectly but didn’t bother to keep it up this time. I’ll make sure he gets checked in tonight. Thanks!
