Hey, I understand your idea. Right now you have a router connected to the internet through a USB stick, and you're thinking of swapping it out for another router via a short LAN cable. It’s possible if both devices support the same network protocols and you have the right permissions. Just make sure you’re using compatible hardware and follow any setup instructions for connecting via LAN. Let me know if you need more details!

Searching for "WiFi bridge" online. Routers with support usually work fine. Dedicated bridge routers are also available.

asus routers offer a 'range extender' feature. a better choice is to purchase one separately.

Many recent routers include this feature; opt for access point mode rather than router mode. If your firmware lacks wireless bridge support, add Openwrt or DDWRT—both are custom ROMs for routers. Using these allows another device to act as a wireless repeater or hub.

It's referred to as a wireless bridge. A router can work for this, but it must be compatible or the router needs third-party firmware such as DDWRT.

Turning off DHCP on the second router and connecting the first router to a LAN port often works similarly. It might be a bit more complicated since you'll need to assign a static IP to maintain access to the web interface.

Apologies for the mistake. That's the outcome I receive when I switch between subjects too fast. I was still thinking about another topic before finishing.
