Hi everyone. I watched the tutorial you shared (link provided). I know range extenders exist, but that’s not my goal. I want to keep the main router running at full speed while expanding its coverage. Here’s what I did: 1. Left the main router using its default IP (192.168.1.1). 2. Changed the starting IP to 192.168.1.3. 3. Set the secondary router to 192.168.1.2 so it doesn’t conflict with the main one. 4. Enabled AP-MODE on the main router, which should handle this task. I also turned off DHCP. Seeing the pictures: 1. Main router. 2. Secondary router (connected by cable). Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks a lot!

Check the wireless configurations as well... ideally the second router should support DHCP forwarding. Otherwise, devices might face issues if they're on the same network with comparable wireless performance—especially during connections and disconnections.

Thanks a lot. DHCP forwarding wasn't visible. Should I check it on the second router? Thanks again.

The DHCP Forward feature should be set on the second router. This way, when devices request an IP address, they will be redirected to router 1 from router 2. There should be only one IP Authority in the house. Otherwise, you might encounter issues and would need to use different ranges—like x.x.x.10-150 on router one and x.x.x.151-250 on router two. It won't look very neat, but it could function if DHCP forwarding isn't working. I can't see the router menus clearly, so I have to rely on experience.

DHCP forwarding applies only when devices are on separate subnets. This isn't relevant to our scenario.

For safety, wireless and cable LANs must operate on separate networks, with the router acting as a bridge in between.

This doesn't enhance protection unless restrictions control movement in either way.

Display the second router's Wi-Fi configuration details. Default gateway and DNS are set to 192.168.1.1, which should remain consistent unless a firmware issue exists.
