Link PNY A6000 with Corsair RM850x setup
Hey there! I'm currently working on replacing components in my PC. I purchased a used A6000 from eBay and decided to test it out. To keep things running smoothly, I upgraded my PSU to an RM850X from Corsair. Since I'm still getting familiar with building, I should know you can laugh at my choices—but please be kind! PCPartPicker suggested it would work. Right now, though, I'm facing a few issues. First, I'm unsure if the cable shapes matter much. Some are rounded (let's call them O), while others are square (X). My old PSU had a connection with OXOO XOOX and it worked perfectly. Second, the biggest challenge is connecting the GPU. From what I've read online, the A6000 can use a CPU power connector or usually comes with an adapter that merges two PCIe slots into one 8-pin. I don’t have that adapter because I bought the card separately and it didn’t include one. That’s why I went for the PSU, which has three cables labeled “CPU” and has eight pins—perfect. But there are latches involved. The end going into the PSU has one latch in the center, while the CPU side has two. This works fine for the CPU, but the A6000 only supports a single-latch connector (OXOO XOOX). It also uses that same connector. However, the other end with two latches won’t fit in the PSU or the graphics card. I’m thinking about removing those latches to make it work, but they’re blocking the connections. I could try cutting them out, but my alarms are going off. I wanted to ask for advice before posting. Thanks a lot!
