Lines appear vertically on my screen due to the graphics card.
PC specifications: Intel i5 7600K @ 4GHz, 16GB DDR4 at 2400MHz, GTX 1080 Strix, 550W Corsair Bronze power supply, MSI B250 M.2 M.2 slot, Dell SE2416H monitor. About a week ago my display would suddenly show a thin vertical line—sometimes in BIOS as well. The line stays in the same position and can reappear for hours before vanishing. It happens both in games and while idle. I suspect it’s caused by the GPU because dragging colors on the green line causes mixing. Attempted fixes: changed HDMI ports, updated drivers, reinstalled drivers, DDUged drivers, used different cables, replaced RAM and GPU. Temperatures remain below 70°C, no prior GPU problems. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
The previous instance involved my monitor. You might attempt connecting the display cable to your motherboard port, then utilize your iGPU. After that, you can play a game or run an app for a short time.
I checked the monitor on another machine. The problem might have vanished and come back later. It could be related to the monitor itself.
It seems the i5-7600k is an Intel processor, possibly for testing purposes. That should simplify things. XD
