Limitation caused by your processor speed
The 2667v2 outperforms the 2697v2 in nearly every game thanks to its faster clock speed. Most titles don’t gain much from exceeding 8c/16t, especially not enough to counter the slower clockspeed of the 12c/24t 2697v2. The 2667v2 matches or slightly surpasses the 4960X in gaming performance, provided the i7 stays within normal limits. For gaming that requires high refresh rates, the Ryzen 5 5600 would be a better choice. Zen3 is also newer by seven years compared to Ivy Bridge-E(P), offering updated instruction sets such as AVX2.
You should consider getting back within the 30-day return window.
Frequently occurs, most cores remain underutilized while those in use reach full capacity.
Choose the 16GB version if you select 4060. For alternatives, opt for a GPU with a minimum of 12GB VRAM. The 6700XT or 6750XT would work well.
You were considering the 2667 v2 and found a compatible CPU with higher clock speeds available. It might be worth exploring that option.
Sorry, neither option fits my budget. When I bought the 4060, I compared it to the 7600, which were pretty similar except the AMD card was about $20 cheaper. On the other hand, Nvidia offered DLSS, CUDA, ray tracing, frame generation, and all those features—so I decided to go with them. I plan to stick with my 4060 for at least five years because the games I play don’t really need a lot of VRAM.
If you watch the HWU video, you'll see why your GPU won't work well this year or even five years from now. The older the CPU, the worse the GPU performs because of its limitations. Many users are struggling with 10th generation CPUs, let alone Xeon models from a decade ago. Consider it not as the RTX 4060, but as the RTX 4030, which should have been better. It's essentially like a weak GTX 1030 paired with GDDR3 memory. This really shows how inadequate the GPU is for its price. It should have cost around $150 USD. All those added features are practically useless on older systems. This is just my view, but honestly, the money spent would be better used elsewhere.
