Limit on memory capacity per slot on the motherboard
Your Z370 Taichi supports 64GB RAM, but it doesn't specify whether it's limited to a single 4x16GB or a 2x32GB configuration. There may be restrictions per slot, so checking the motherboard documentation would help. Upgrading with a dual-channel 2x32GB kit should work well and won't cause issues if your CPU is an 8700K.
Checked some sources and it looks like 2x32GB modules work, though many users face stability problems with XMP on Z370 boards. Using 4x16 seems to be more reliable.
Based on the surroundings, it looks like the system will send a 2x32 response, but the hardware only reserves 32. Alternatively, it might function normally—just consider what I can see because of basic filtering. I’d expect 4x16 if you already have 2x16, and just add another unit if needed.
