In Grand Theft Auto IV I changed the Sabre GT texture, and after removing it, the original car image vanished. Now the car appears purple, but there isn’t a purple version available. Edit: Please help fix this issue.

Do you need assistance restoring things to their usual state? Are you merely highlighting this for curiosity? Are you cautioning against repeating the same actions?

I relied on an automatic installer, which left me uncertain about the location of the vehicle textures.......

I’d always maintain a backup copy of GTA IV just in case things go wrong. I don’t have a fix for this issue, but here’s some advice for the future.

I'm checking my memory about the vehicle models and textures. They're saved in a folder inside Grand Theft Auto IV, specifically under cdimages/vehicles.img. You can get a new copy by reinstalling the game or searching online. I believe this is the correct location, but I haven't verified it yet. A link you mentioned looks useful for backup images. You might use tools like Spark to extract the needed files, though replacing the whole file would erase any other mods you have.

Yes, you'd need to reinstall your mods after replacing the file.

Yes, keep in mind that modifications will also impact your handling.dat and carcols.dat files. Setting them to default before reinstalling mods is uncertain.

The new file appears to be smaller than the original by a significant amount.
