Looking for a lightweight, secure browser for gaming? Chrome might be too heavy, but there are better options out there. Consider using a browser designed for performance and privacy, like Firefox or Brave, which offer speed and protection without the resource drain.

Opera performs well, Maxthon is essentially chrome but focused on speed without heavy overhauls. They also offer a beta version called MX Nitro, which prioritizes performance but still has bugs. Since these browsers aren't widely used, add-ons like Aer Slim are useful unless you're on Mac OSX or Linux. Quick test results show Chrome loaded in 10 seconds and Maxthon in 3 seconds.

It could be that Chrome doesn't always perform well under heavy use, which might cause performance issues. Running it for a short time on a laptop could lead to noticeable slowdowns.

Are you running the 64-bit version? I experienced that too, had to revert to 32-bit.

Hold on a moment... or visit http://midori-browser.org/download/ Opera. It's essentially Chrome unless you're running the older Presto version.
