Light switch activated but system fails to start.
Occasionally it appears and sometimes it doesn’t. When it’s off, we don’t even see the motherboard splash screen. The green “boot” indicator stays lit, my RGB fans are buzzing, and there’s a white light on my MBO showing a GFX error. I’m guessing the issue might be with my 650 watt power supply. If the fans flicker, what do you think?
When the computer powers on but fails to boot, the display remains off and the connected screen stays inactive as well. There may be overclocking involved. Check that all components are securely connected and that each part has been properly installed. Your RAM speed is likely affecting performance; setting it too high can cause boot issues.
I know what you mean about the display not showing anything, but does the screen light up when the PC starts even if it’s just black? Or does it stay completely off? With a 650W PSU, it should be handling the power supply well given your i7 and 3070 processor.
It's a fresh setup, everything is connected properly. However, you're seeing a white LED and green LED on the motherboard, and the PC isn't booting. Even when a splash screen appears occasionally, it doesn’t work. We checked that the RAM hasn’t been swapped out, and removing the SSD didn’t help. The fans are flickering like strobe lights. Could your power supply be running a 650W PSU with an Intel 3070 and an i7? Any other assistance would be appreciated.
This might also be useful. Verify your GPU is properly seated. If your M.2 is used as a boot device, consider removing the SSD. Sometimes M.2 and SATA devices in certain ports compete for bandwidth and switch to SATA mode, which could cause issues. Review the image you're using from the manual. If you only connected via the 8-pin connector, try using the 4-pin instead.
Thanks! It’s good to know the SSD was removed but the system isn’t starting.
Thanks for your help. I attempted to remove the SSD and try booting, but it didn’t work. I also changed the RAM and still couldn’t get a start.
