Check if you can disable power buttons and mute controls on your HP laptop running Windows 10.
It is a hardware function, the operating system does not affect it. Cover them if necessary.
You could always remove the SMD LED's from the buttons/
You can always remove the SMD LEDs from the buttons by desoldering or using a hammer.
