No problem. Heavy overclocking or wrong daily overclock attempts are the issue. Parts will stop working well long before they even start to fail, no matter how hard you try to push them. XMP won't help much either; the RAM is designed to run at the advertised speed/time/tension, and unless you're using a very high-end 4000+ setup with extreme voltages, you'll stay within safe limits for your CPU's maximum temperature (around 1.35v for Intel, similar for AMD).
In short, XMP on a 3600MHz system shouldn’t harm the lifespan of your RAM or CPU. The videos you saw might be mixing up things, but BIOS settings mainly influence CPU frequency, not long-term wear. Overclocking is usually discussed separately and isn’t directly tied to these settings.
XMP should work fine except with very high-end OC kits that occasionally suggest 1.5v XMP. The board you're using shouldn't cause this issue. That's a different matter. MCE stands for MultiCore Enhancement. This feature appears on many ASUS and other OEM motherboards (some OEMs might call it differently), and certain BIOS versions will turn it on automatically when XMP is enabled. If it does, you can revert by disabling MCE so XMP applies only to RAM and not the CPU. Just keep in mind you need to verify this setting.
