I recently purchased a new machine equipped with an I7 9700K and a 2070 Super. I bought it quickly and might have preferred an AMD chip. How much longer can you expect to play games on this setup?

My 4770 remains a solid CPU choice, and many users stick with 2nd or 3rd generation chips. No concern about longevity.

It depends on your gaming goals. On an older system with a 60Hz monitor, your PC will run smoothly for a long time. With modern AAA games at 1440p or higher refresh rates, it won’t last as long. The 9700K offers solid performance compared to Ryzen.

In a vacuum it performs well; in its competitive setting it falls short. It should keep up for a while if you're mainly playing, but for streaming, use NVENC.
