Lian Li PC model 205C
Lian Li PC model 205C
I changed my tower from AM4 socket to AM5, added new RAM and CPU. I gathered all the components I replaced and assembled another unit. I purchased a fresh NZXT C850 Gold power supply and a new case. The case is the LIAN Li 205 Lan Cool Mesh C. All previous parts functioned properly. I followed the manual for connecting the fans. The case only has a power switch and two buttons for fan control, no standard header wiring. I verified the power wire was correctly placed in the header per the manual. The issue is that the machine won’t turn on. This seems to be a known problem with these cases. Please advise if you need assistance.
The power switch (often labeled PW SW or Power SW) is a tiny connector with two wires. Verify it’s placed correctly on the motherboard. Refer to your guide for specifics. Typically, the white labels slide away from the pins, which means you might be connecting it incorrectly. Also confirm the PSU is activated and some boards require a fan linked to the dedicated CPU fan port.
Did you verify the system can start? Remove the case and test the power connections to confirm the issue isn’t with the case itself.
The guide mentions there’s no reset switch or power indicators for LEDs. Could you share an image of the header where the PC was installed? This would help confirm the setup issue you described.
I hope one day we can find a location with a SATA port that includes a POWER connector of the proper size. We shouldn't rely on those old, confusing symbols. It feels like we're far beyond 1984 now.
Thanks for your message. I attempted all the suggestions people recommended, but I still don’t have control. I’ve attached some pictures and the manual link: https://download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe...NGPLUS.pdf. I tried flipping the wire as you suggested, hoping it would help.
This system cannot reverse the plus and minus signs, ensure proper connections.
