The image doesn’t show any clear issues with the socket. It’s possible the incorrect CPU was pressed gently or only affected the outer plastic components.

That sounds promising. I actually just put it on the pins without applying any force, which should help ensure proper installation. I’m hoping the new CPU will function correctly once it’s in place.
