I believed the no flex or bend bracket would raise temperatures more, but I didn’t see any improvement—just a slight 2°C increase. Could there be something I missed? I swapped out the stock mounting bracket for a new aftermarket version.

They enhance differently based on the cooler type you have. With a flat water block, gains are significant (~5-7°C), whereas on a moderately curved air cooler such as the NH-U12S, improvements will be smaller (2-3°C).

It varies based on your setup as well. Everyone experiences a unique CPU form after installation—perhaps you had a flat CPU from the beginning. Some images of the thermal paste layout before the contact frame were helpful. These are my shots; it looks like there’s extra paste in the center.

I adjusted the screw to the no flex bracket, causing temperatures to fall about 6 degrees at idle.
