I recently purchased an LG C3 48-inch monitor for use with my PC, PS5, and streaming content. During setup, I observed this unusual vertical banding effect on screens with consistent backgrounds, especially in darker shades like greys and navy blue. The issue disappears when there’s detail on the screen or when displaying a full white screen. It seems unrelated to the TV itself, as the plastic remains visible even after removing it from the image. Have you encountered any problems with your TV? Should I suggest returning it?

Based on some research, many users suggest allowing the display to settle before using it. Adjusting HDR settings can help, keeping brightness at full levels when possible. When switching to standby mode, ensure the device remains connected to power until you notice a click after about five minutes, confirming the refresh process completed (especially for the C1 model). I’m not sure if my C1 behaved this way since I never used it with a consistent color; I usually keep the desktop black and hide the task bar to minimize burn-in risk.
