Let's talk about Division 2
Let's talk about Division 2
Division 2... I don’t usually play this game, but it’s a free weekend offer (if you haven’t noticed yet, download it now on U-Play). I decided to try it out.
To my surprise, I actually like the experience (well, at least for now! I’m just starting and completed my first mission).
The gunplay feels solid, the graphics are impressive, and the game runs smoothly even on a full AMD system... (THANK YOU! No biased comments here), the sound quality isn’t terrible. It could definitely be better.
I heard it was really bad during beta testing, but when I played earlier it worked fine. They’re smart—they know how to flank and move around. I wonder if they fixed it or not.
What I’m asking to discuss here is: what exactly is Division 2?
Is it similar to Borderlands, but a third-person shooter where you level up, collect loot, and get stronger? But in Borderlands, you can play through the whole game solo, without any balancing issues!
I want to know for sure—can I enjoy Division 2 completely alone? No need for another player. Is there a big balance problem if I play solo? Will I have to grind excessively just to finish the game?
Will it be too hard to beat without help? And what about content? If I treat it strictly as an offline game, will there be enough missions? (Like in Borderlands, you’ll never run out of tasks.)
Lastly, microtransactions... from what I see, they’re just cosmetic items only. The game is a looter shooter, right? Please tell me there aren’t any loot boxes that give weapons or armor in the game.
Basically, it feels like a pay-to-win situation... unless it’s similar to Far Cry, then I’m okay with that.
In short, I want:
1) A long game where I can play solo, with plenty of missions and a story campaign (without just grinding and leveling up endlessly).
2) No forced grinding just to progress or beat the game.
3) No pay-to-win mechanics.
4) (For now) I’ll keep this edit in mind.
5) (For now) I’ll keep this edit in mind.
Well yeah...what I actually mean is, not like stupidly excessive kind of grind....Ok like in Diablo 3, there's this Season. You start from Level 1 with nothing at all.
But the game is rather EZ to grind, it won't take you forever. Just except if you really want to beat the the best score in Rift / complete every single Achievement.
But if you just wanna compete the " Basic " Season achievements to get the rewards, at most. A month of gameplay you be done with it. Seasons will last up to about 4 Months....please bare in mind, you start from absolutely ZERO.....( about 3 Hours per day of gameplay )
I got caught up in the Division 1 action, even if you don’t want to talk to others—it’s really cool. It gets even better in Coop, though it’s tough without a random player (voice chat is necessary). I haven’t played Division 2 yet, but if it’s similar to the first one, you’ll love it. Just keep away from the PVP stuff—they’re like Diablo tryhard.
Far Cry was created in collaboration with AMD, yet Far Cry seems to dislike RyZen CPUs...sort of... High CPU clocks seem to give it an edge over cores, as even a 4 Core i5 easily outperforms RyZen 8 Core in certain scenarios. In Division 2 / Battlefield V and especially AC Odyssey, the i5 struggles to keep up. The CPU performance is so constrained that it often becomes a bottleneck due to insufficient cores and threads. GTA V, despite being a large open-world title, also doesn't perform well with multi-core setups—though it's an older game. Ultimately, the issue lies more with the game's engine, which is becoming more modern and capable of leveraging multi-core processing.
Consider giving it a shot now—the Free Weekend kicks off today!
They’re displaying three major DLC releases... any guesses what they are? Are these campaign launches?
If so, I might actually get the game because it’s on sale too.

According to what I know, the DLC from the first update unlocked some unique endgame features. It feels like a long time ago I can't really recall it, but I really liked the game and I remember hearing that the second one was similar. I'm going to add it to the download list right now.
In general, I've noticed many reviews, most of them give it a fairly positive score. Even WAB...( Worth a Buy ) LOL! But that was during the very early stages of the game. A lot could have changed since then. Since you like Division 1, I believe you'll enjoy Division 2, as everyone mentioned it's a significant improvement. This is my first time playing it yet, but I'm already hooked!
Reaching the endgame is enjoyable. Staying there feels incredibly dull.
