Please login with administrator privileges and try again (Windows 10) Comes up now ,when trying to play games . ive tried many things on the net . Except creating a new Win-account ,i only wish to have 1 account that's it then done . Im starting to think Microsoft wants entire control of us .No gaming and all passwords for them. Sorry im feeling a little stressed out i wanted to play my old NFS game i have a stack of games sitting here i want to install but not till i get this fixed. Yet another thing to do when installing windows after a fresh formatt . If i can not get a fix for this ill revert back to windows 7 . I didn't pay for these games to have in my face Sorry but um no we don't like that game it's old. Thanks in advance. For any advice .Have in mind i have tried a fair few things ,i may say yes tried this and that. But Fire away . Thumbs Up.

Wouldn't needing quick performance be a core feature of dos games? Consider testing it in a dos emulator.

I still enjoy Age of Empires II and NFS Most Wanted (2005), which is great Big Grin.

You're dealing with outdated software that expects admin rights. Many old programs ignore Microsoft's guidelines for development. This creates security issues because files request elevated access. If you open a file and it demands admin privileges, it's likely malicious. You can prevent this by choosing "No" in the User Account Control prompt, which blocks the program from modifying system files. Avoid installing such games in Program Files; place them elsewhere or on a different drive. Adjust permissions so everyone has full control, allowing the game to function properly without risk.

This plan makes complete sense. P.S., I install games on my D drive and use Steam as well. I’ll take a nap first, then try again tomorrow morning.

My game is set up on the D: drive but I'm still unable to adjust the permissions.

The application must have access rights unless you’ve taken specific actions. Testing indicates it requires Windows 95/98/Me compatibility mode, and running it without administrative privileges would cause issues.

I believe I should go through it step by step. I’m still facing problems even after trying everything. Sorry for the trouble—I just feel like I was taken advantage of.
