I was thinking about moving my PC from the i3-7100 to a newer setup with an i3-12100F, stock cooler, and a Gigabyte H610M-H LGA1700. Is spending $97 on this package worth it or can I find a more affordable option?
For $97 it's actually a solid offer—it'll significantly improve the setup compared to what you have now. The processor costs around $75 and the motherboard is roughly the same price.
Cheap but a used 5600(x) with a b450 will be faster than it at a similar price or atleast not much more than that bundle especially considering you can use pbo to clock it higher and theres also an upgrade path to the 5700x3d where that crappy h610 wont even be able to handle a 13600k/14700k
