It seems to be just a USB port. Based on what @Hinjima mentioned, it could be a custom connector possibly paired with USB-A for security or licensing purposes. There might have been a combo cable where the bottom was USB-A but the top could also work depending on its function. I don’t have more details, but a Yubikey might fit in there—though they weren’t using them in the early 2000s. If you remove the device currently plugged in and upload a photo of both ports, it could help clarify.

I don’t have the machine for me, so the pictures aren’t in high quality. The other option is just a regular USB port, and newer devices have a standard USB connector, but the port feels different because it’s been used before—like old PC motherboards—and I’m not sure if it will work with newer bikes.
