Hey everyone, just checking in to see how everyone is doing. I own a 3080 MSI VENTUS X3 with a Ryzen 7 5700X and 16GB RAM at 3200MHz. Today I connected my motherboard (B550-F Asus ROG Strix) and installed a new M.2 SSD, Adata S11 Pro. As soon as the PC started up, I captured this photo. I’m not sure what it shows, but I hope it’s from the cooler I have (Coolermaster G100M). I’m wondering if this could be the reason for the issue since I’m planning to upgrade to a Coolermaster ML240 water cooler. Also, my CPU temperature in-game is around 86 degrees—can anyone explain what the photo indicates and confirm it’s related to the cooler? Thanks! Also, my PC is really loud now; I used to have a Ryzen 5 3600 and it was much quieter, almost steady during games. Now it’s screaming in my desktop. —Edited November 24, 2022 by SouSkrt
It seems your cooler isn't connected to the CPU fan header on the motherboard to detect its speed. Likely, it's not receiving the necessary input for monitoring.
It might be that the fan connection (or RPM wire) is linked to another fan port than the CPU fan. The motherboard typically needs a Fan RPM signal to avoid this warning. CPU coolers usually have a fan lead or RPM sensor wire that connects to the CPU fan header on the board... Let me know if you need more clarity... Check what device is connected to the CPU fan header on your motherboard. Use a standard case fan wire to test if the issue resolves.
