Lenovo Y520 RAMs are not functioning at full capacity and advanced BIOS settings are unavailable.
Hello, I own a Lenovo Legion Y520-15IKBM with 8GB of RAM. Recently, I purchased two Crucial 16GB 3200MHz RAM modules. After installation, the Task Manager displays the following: I attempted to run a benchmark for PUBG but it didn<|pad|>, still at 2400. I tried enabling XMP to utilize full speed, but couldn<|pad|> to locate any advanced BIOS settings. Additionally, I just updated the BIOS via Lenovo Ventage, yet no improvement appears. Anyone have any advice on how to reach advanced BIOS options for XMP activation or to use the full RAM speed? I’ll paste some CPU-Z screenshots for reference.
The previous posters mentioned the same thing. It seems XMP isn't available in my Legion 5 2022 version. Apparently, most computers today don't support it either. If your system can handle 3200 MT/s, you should have purchased a JEDEC 3200 chip. That way it will operate at full speed without needing extra overclocking (XMP is essentially overclocking). However, if you bought a JEDEC 3200 but it only reaches 2400, it's likely your CPU has a maximum limit of 2400 and XMP won't make a difference.
