I've set up some older titles (from 2000-2002) like C&C Renegade, Chaser, Red Faction, etc. When I launch them, they don't recognize the modern GPU GTX950M. Only the built-in graphics Intel HD Graphics 5600 appear. Anyone have a fix for this?

Likely due to Nvidia Optimus technology in laptops. It seems there might be a method to run games through the GPU, though I’m not sure where the settings are located. Those titles don’t typically demand heavy 3D processing, which makes using the 950M more feasible. I recall playing Renegade on a PC with onboard graphics back in 2003 at school. You could look into what Azza mentioned in this Steam discussion link. It’s unclear if it would work per game, as some users have reported problems. Another forum thread discusses disabling Optimus on TomHardware:

I could test it on my desktop first, then with a GTX1060.

You can click the shortcut once and choose it for High Performance Graphic (Nvidia). Alternatively, manually pick the executable from the Nvidia Control Panel. The newest Win10 version seems to include this choice too.

You could simply purchase an AMD CPU and configure it to utilize your GPU. While this idea is possible, I haven't personally tested it. Certain adjustments might be available through the Nvidia control panel to specify the active GPU.
