For your Alienware 14, using UEFI is recommended for Windows 10 support. Legacy mode is still available but may limit future upgrades. The main difference is that UEFI supports modern boot methods and better security features, while Legacy is compatible with older systems. Upgrading to UEFI will ensure compatibility with newer Windows versions.

Legacy serves older platforms such as Windows XP. For modern setups, stick to UEFI when using Windows 10. - The brief tale.

Win10 favors UEFI, yet I still prefer Legacy. Plus... who would have thought Alienware would be the right choice among those that build great machines?

Currently not a major concern for most users. The restriction applies mainly to drives exceeding 2TB and affects only the boot disk. Still, UEFI is enabled each time your system is ready. Additionally, older components typically can't run UEFI, such as the x58 chipset.

I rely on legacy since it lets me start up in BIOS right away instead of needing to boot into the OS first. This applies to HP systems. Yet legacy isn’t superior to UEFI; it still provides advantages like compatibility with older hardware.

In fact, fundamental UEFI capabilities were introduced in Vista SP1. Later versions like Windows 8 incorporated Secure Boot and other sophisticated UEFI functions.

It seems you're suggesting obtaining a loto ticket since only a handful have succeeded, especially among OEMs.
