LED yellow light guiding the motherboard
I'm new here so looking for some help. I'm building a new computer after my 10 year old amd fx 8310 processor desktop died. Not sure what happened except one day (a week ago) it just wouldn't turn on. I decided to start a new and maybe it wasn't the greatest decision. I got: AMD Ryzen 5600x processor. Tuf gaming b550m plus Corsair vengeance lpx 2x 8gb RAM Cmk16gx4m2z3200c16 I assembled it out the box with all newly purchased items. I jump and get a yellow light on dram on mobo. HDMI monitor plugged on board no bios. I tried just one stick in b2 still nothing. I did a bit of research. Do I need to update bios? If so how, specifically. I have a USB stick It turns on and all the fans run even my geforce gtx 1660. I tried both hdmi in card and on board. Psu:evga 750 b5 So finally. what's the cheapest amount of ram that will allow me to test if it's the ram or bios?
Hey, same here. My MOBO is an ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS. It requires updates based on feedback from ASUS TECH Support. You should look at the label near the dimm slot and CPU socket—those last four digits show the installed BIOS unless you've updated it. If the four-digit number is under 1004, you'll need to install a new one.
It depends on your system's performance. If it runs slow or struggles with tasks, the RAM might be the issue. Otherwise, an old BIOS could also affect things. Check usage stats and test with a different setup if needed.
The information provided is somewhat confusing. It seems you're referring to BIOS updates and motherboard compatibility. Make sure your motherboard supports BIOS flashback, as this allows you to update the BIOS without needing the CPU. Download the latest BIOS file and carefully follow the instructions. Remember, renaming the BIOS file to a specific name is necessary for it to function correctly.
