Hi, a week ago my old machine began restarting repeatedly. I tried all possible fixes but eventually replaced the motherboard, CPU, and RAM. The new parts are: Gigabyte Aorus B650 Elite AX Ryzen 7800X3D, Kingston DDR5 Fury Beast Black. Everything came together and the computer ran smoothly for the entire week without any issues. Recently, it stopped working altogether—pressing the start button triggered the CPU LED to illuminate and the system froze. I attempted to run it, changed the power supply, reconnected cables, but nothing worked. Do you think there might be a problem? I’m not sure about the fresh build, but this PC operated perfectly for a week. (Except for the Windows update.) Thanks in advance. Edit: When the PC restarts, the power button remains inactive even after holding it for a minute; I need to shut down the PSU. Edited March 1, 2024 by jeff83 Additional info
Youre not wrong but if its a CPU issue currently it cant hurt to try
Removed all components except the CPU and one memory stick, but nothing worked. Attempted to reinsert the CPU without success. Inspected the AM5 slot and noticed the pins might be bent. It’s possible the cooler was over-tightened, causing damage. (Used an older model – Silentium Fera 3 HE1224.)
I purchased a new CPU and motherboard, installed them in the case, added one RAM stick, and the issue persisted. The only consistent parts were the PSU, memory stick, and cables. I tested both RAM modules, finding it odd if either were damaged. The cables were re-connected multiple times. Probably best to get new RAM and check if it resolves the problem.
