Hey everyone - just updated my CPU/MOBO and hit the CPU red light on the motherboard: MSI B760 GAMING WIFI CPU I7-14700K, 3070 GPU, MSI Ventus Trio RAM 32GB DDR5, EVGA 750W PSU. I tried all sorts of fixes—switched RAM slots, used just one stick in different slots, changed PSU cables, removed the GPU, and even flashed CMOS with pins to short. It’s tough to believe 750W could get me going, but maybe it works? The CPU socket and chip appear fine, though I’m still confused. It seems the CPU might have been dead at first and I was hoping for a last-minute fix. I’ve asked for a refund already, but I’m open to suggestions if anyone has a solution. Thanks in advance!

Hi, the red light on this indicator indicates the motherboard isn't recognizing the CPU. This might happen if the CPU isn't properly connected, a pin is damaged, or the fan isn't attached. A dead CMOS battery could also trigger it. LifeWire

It seems the issue was with your motherboard. The PSU failed immediately, so I got a replacement and heard strange sounds right away. I’ve sent everything back and plan to restart the system.
